How to Implement Holistic Mental Healthcare in a Psychotherapy
Practice Workshop

More & more studies are coming out to show the effectiveness of the holistic care approach when it comes to mood disorders.
A recent study conducted on young adults compared the holistic mental health approach to medication. The holistic self-learning approach included nutritional coaching, multi-vitamin supplements, weekly educational & peer support groups, and a stipend to engage in physical and/or expressive activities.
It found that participants who completed the holistic mental healthcare program reported improved depression, anxiety, severity of distress, overall quality of life, and empowerment of 4 months.
Furthermore, their progress was maintained, or even improved at the 2-month follow-up compared to the medication group where no change was observed. (PMID: 32577998)
